Walsh is currently seeking a Superintendent in Chicago, IL for traveling hospitality projects.

Responsibilities

The Superintendent is responsible for the supervision, organization, planning, and scheduling of the physical execution of the work and the leadership and management of field forces, including the following:

  • Overall management of field operations including cost management, labor tracking and reporting
  • Creating and managing project schedule
  • Coordination of subcontracts, drawings, and specifications
  • Establishing budgets and controlling cost
  • Identifying the causes of cost variances and eliminate negative variances
  • Controlling waste
  • Identifying project risk, and work to mitigate it
  • Communicating quality standards to each subcontractor and vendor
  • Conducting systematic quality control inspections and coordinating agency inspections
  • Following company safety program, laws, and OSHA operating standards
  • Managing jobsite cleanliness 
  • Preparing daily time cards for personnel under supervision
  • Preparing daily logs
  • Planning and executing jobsite logistics
  • Managing project closeout and punchlist
  • Providing project communication including daily, weekly and monthly reports
  • Reviewing and approving subcontractor pay applications

Qualifications

  • Civil engineering or construction management preferred
  • 15+ years of relevant experience; 3 in a superintendent or leadership role
  • Experience with hospitality projects over $50M
  • Self-motivated
  • Strong follow up skills

  • Communication skills
