Archer Western a member of The Walsh Group is currently seeking a Southeast Division Quality Control Manager to work out of the Atlanta Regional Office. 

The Southeast Division Quality Control Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and leading quality operations within each of the Heavy Civil and Building Divisions.  Responsible for overall leadership and effective implementation of the QMS within their respective Division of the Walsh Group.  Represents the organization’s interests and forges critical relationships with clients and partners.

  • Continually coordinates with clients, Business Group Leadership, service providers, and project managers to ensure seamless application of quality programming for the Division or BGLs they serve through project execution.
  • Understands the Walsh corporate organization and builds an internal network of relationships. Maintains satisfactory external relationships with owners, government officials and public officers, subcontractors, unions, etc.

  • Establishes, monitoring and reports on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the company, division and business groups to ensure continuous improvement.

  • Maintains and promotes the Quality Manuals 1A and 1B with scheduled annual QMS auditing and improvements. Establishes, implements and maintains standardized quality processes.

  • Provides advanced leadership to drive development of staff. High-level interactive involvement of strategic recruitment and staffing, succession planning and training. Serves as mentor and coach to all levels within the Quality career tract, to advance their careers at Walsh and improve retention.

  • Promote the importance of Quality throughout the company in alignment with corporate strategy; supports creation of project implementation plans.
  • Reports to and advises senior staff on QMS implementation, overall effectiveness of the QMS for projects underway as well as the status of proposed improvements to the QMS.
  • Assists BGLs and their Program, Area and Operations Managers in establishing project quality staff requirements as well as identifying/developing qualified quality project personnel .
  • Manages group quality budgets; develops billing, risk reporting and testing processes  to effectively protect Walsh from claim exposure.
  • Responsible for risk management strategy that helps business groups improve profitability by reducing risk and improving efficiency via process management and risk mitigation.
  • Supports in major project pursuits for proposal write-up, quality cost estimation and contractual risk management.
  • Responsible for company-wide and cross-division Quality initiatives, lesson sharing and overall continuous improvement from the entire company.



  • Minimum 15 years of experience in AEC with a minimum of 5 years QA/QC leadership

  • Bachelor’s degree in a AEC (Arch, Engineering, Construction
  • Ability to enforce quality control, and ensure compliance with quality standards and contract requirements
  • Able to perform surveillance and inspection on multiple crews and subcontractors
  • Flexibility to provide QC services both on and off the jobsite and at various intervals of a project
  • Self-starter with good documentation skills
  • EIT or Professional Engineer (PE) License strongly preferred
  • Some travel required to division regional offices, project offices, associations and boards offices
