Overview

Walsh is currently seeking a Quality Control Inspector Trainee in our Mid-Atlantic Heavy Civil Division at our Washington DC location.

This role will learn and enage on how to; operate nuclear gauge to monitor compaction and laydown of asphalt. Operates coring rig, in cutting core samples of asphalt for comparison against lab densities. Maintains required documents and develops reports to demonstrate compliance with federal regulations. May perform other related duties.

  • Care of density gauge
  • Care of coring rig & other related equipment
  • Safety procedures
  • Basic record keeping
  • Certifcate training
  • Monitoring density gauge
  • Transportation of lab samples

Qualifications

Basic Skill Required

 

- Basic Computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office

- Some construction industry experience or education preffered

- Highly motivated

- Interest in QC and construction

- Good organization skills

 

Education and/or Experience

  • Curently studying for a degree or QA/QC training preferred
