Walsh is currently seeking a Construction Assistant Project Manager - Track & Guideway for our Crenshaw/LAX Transit Corridor Project for our California Heavy Civil South team.

The Assistant Project Manager’s responsibilities include:

  • Project planning, scheduling and coordination
  • Project estimating, forecasting and management of budgets
  • Ability to prioritize, develop and maintain project schedules
  • Document control management (RFIs, submittals, change orders, claims, etc.)
  • Safety management
  • Quality Control / Quality Assurance checks
  • Coordination and management of subcontractors’ work
  • Coordination and management of self-perform construction work
  • Contract and change order management
  • Verify time on time cards and track weekly construction progress; i.e., quantities claiming
  • Maintenance of vehicle, materials, equipment and tools inventories
  • Resolution of problems involving labor disputes, material delivery and contract administration


We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:

    • Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering preferred
    • Minimum 4 years professional experience in construction or construction management
    • Preference for experience in track and guideway construction of rail projects; e.g., grading, retaining walls, concrete, curb & gutter, foundations, drainage, rail, etc.
    • Experience with construction software is preferred
    • Strong leadership and supervisory skills
    • Excellent oral and written communication
    • Ability to prioritize and manage own time
    • Strong ability to follow up and drive completion of work
    • Ability to establish and maintain relationships
    • Self-motivated
    • Critical thinking and decision-making skills
