Overview

Walsh is currently seeking an Construction Assistant Project Manager for our Crenshaw/LAX Transit Corridor Project for our California Heavy Civil South team.

Responsibilities

The Assistant Project Manager’s responsibilities include:

  • Project planning, scheduling and coordination
  • Project estimating, forecasting and management of budgets
  • Ability to prioritize, develop and maintain project schedules
  • Document control management (RFIs, submittals, change orders, claims, etc.)
  • Safety management
  • Quality Control / Quality Assurance checks
  • Subcontractors management
  • Contract and change order management
  • Change pricing and negotiations
  • Verify time on time cards and track weekly construction progress; i.e., quantities claiming
  • Material procurement
  • Resolution of problems involving labor disputes, material delivery and contract administration

Qualifications

We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Degree in Construction Management, Electrical or Control Systems Engineering preferred
  • Minimum 4 years professional experience in construction or construction management
  • Preference for experience in transit systems, train controls, signaling, communication systems, etc.
  • Experience with construction software is preferred
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Ability to prioritize and manage own time
  • Strong ability to follow up and drive completion of work
  • Ability to establish and maintain relationships
  • Self-motivated
  • Critical thinking and decision-making skills
