Overview

Walsh is currently seeking a Contract Manager for the LaGuardia Aiport project in New York, NY.

The Contract Manager is responsible for researching and advising the project team on contract entitlement positions, managing project correspondence, and ensuring correspondence compliance with the contract documents and overall commercial strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Review incoming correspondence and Identify those that pose risk to the Joint Venture and/or require a response in order to maintain a proper evidentiary record
  • Draft owner and subcontractor correspondence in conjunction with the project management teams to ensure compliance to the overall commercial strategy and contract documents
  • Research and lay out entitlement positions related to project claims and disputes
  • Review, analyze, and assess reasonableness of commercial positions asserted by Owners, Subcontractors, Designers, and the Joint Venture
  • Prepare for and assist with negotiation of claims and commercial disputes
  • Advise the project team on entitlement disputes and resolution strategies

 

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor Degree required
  • Minimum 5 years of construction contract management or construction law experience
  • Ability to understand complex technical fact sets and apply to appropriate contract provisions or legal concepts
  • Exceptional writing ability
  • Ability to understand, develop, and execute the overall project commercial strategy
  • Ability to clearly convey complex contract/legal concepts and strategies to the project team and third parties
  • Ability to prioritize competing responsibilities and manage the overall correspondence process
