Walsh is currently seeking an Executive Assistant in our National Building Group in Chicago, IL.

The Executive Assistant provides support to the National Building Group Senior Executive. The main duties are as follows:

  • Maintains calendars for Senior Executive
  • Coordinates travel and expenses using Concur
  • Schedule meetings, conference calls, and video conferences and take meeting minutes, as needed
  • Anticipate problems and critical issues in scheduling meetings
  • Acts as a corporate liaison and field questions from project based staff
  • Handle confidential matters including onboarding, terminations, living allowances, and wage and salary information
  • Use strategic thinking to seek ways to improve and increase the effectiveness of the department and organization as a whole
  • Write correspondence on behalf of senior executive
  • Track Group Leads, Opportunities, Bids and Contacts using MS Dynamics
  • Schedule annual and quarterly meetings (up to 50 employees) from start to finish including invite lists, correspondence, venue selection, and logistics
  • Create and edit presentations
  • Handle other strategic projects as needed


  • College degree is preferred
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in executive assistant role or similar role
  • Proficient with MS Office Programs and ability to quickly learn Concur, Dynamics and other common applications
  • Ability to work in a faced paced environment with many interruptions
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, loud, and energetic environment
  • Be able to adapt to Walsh based computer systems
  • Experience within the construction industry is preferred
  • High energy mentality and a good sense of humor a plus
  • Ability to work with, and speak to all level of employees from entry-level to C-Suite Executives
  • Ability to maintain discretion at all times
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Perform work responsibilities with emotional intelligence
  • Experience with planning and executing meetings
  • Ability to take direction and prioritize responsibilities
