Overview

Walsh is currently seeking a Software Engineer to join our Corporate IT team.  Primary responsibility will be to develop internal business applications based on the needs of our business units.  The new developer will have an opportunity to work across all layers of the application stack from front end UI to back end database systems.

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of a our development team to build applications that help drive the business forward
  • Meeting with stake holders to understand project requirements
  • Create applications based on business unit requests
  • Coordinating with senior team members on code reviews
  • Assist in creating estimates for proposed projects
  • Provide application support across a host of internally developed applications
  • Pererrably have worked with the following technologies:
    • Net Framework
    • Azure
    • C#
    • ASP.NET
    • ASP.NET MVC
    • SQL Server
    • SQL Reporting Services
    • Git
    • Front end technologies (jQuery, Bootstrap, Kendo UI, Knockout, Angular)

Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of developer experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast paced environment
  • Strong work ethic
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Competent programming in an object oriented language (C#, Java, C++ etc)
  • Understanding of OOP concepts
  • Ability to work well in a team
  • Experience with the .Net Framework 
  • Professional experience working as a developer (internship, co-op, or previous work experience)
  • Experience creating web based applications
  • Experience with SQL
