Walsh is currently seeking an Assistant Project Superintendent at our Van Ness Bus Rapid Transit Project in San Francisco, CA.

The Assistant Project Superintendent holds the responsibility and authority for the daily execution of a specific area or portion of the project to be carried out safely, within budget, on schedule, to the company’s standard of quality and to the client’s satisfaction.

  • Project planning, scheduling and coordination
  • Supervises at least one foreman and crew within their specific area or portion of the project assigned.
  • Safety and quality control management - ensuring crew’s Safety planning is completed and followed
  • Ensures crew’s Quality planning is completed and followed; such as assisting with work plan development and TQA’s.
  • Accurate forecasting and management of budgets
  • Participate in routine schedule and coordination meetings with project staff for material, equipment, subcontractor and personnel needs.
  • Maintain accurate and timely timekeeping for crews under their responsibility.
  • Manage critical subcontractors
  • Observe work operations within their areas of responsibility to insure performance is productive, safe, and of highest quality.
  • Maintain vehicle, equipment, and tools management
  • Ensure accurate daily reports and critical information is documented and completed regularly and timely.
  • Coordinate and communicate engineering and layout needs timely.
  • Maintain an ethical, positive and harassment free work environment.
  • Resolution of problems involving labor disputes, material delivery and contract administration




  • High School diploma; Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent
  • Approximately 3 - 5 years of experience 
  • OSHA 30-hour certification preferred
  • Primavera or the ability to create bar chart schedules in Excel from information contained in a Primavera schedule
  • Prioritize, develop, and maintain project schedules
  • CMiC experience desired
  • Strong communication skills, analytical and problem solving abilities
  • Ability to prioritize, develop and maintain schedules
  • Strong follow up
  • Basic surveying skills
  • Leadership experience
  • Ability to establish relationships and lead people
  • Self-motivated
  • Critical thinking and decision making skills
