    Walsh is searching for a Commissioning Engineer for the LaGuardia Redevelopment project located in New York, NY.

     

    Reporting directly to the Commissioning Manager, this position performs as the on-site representative for the Construction Manager. Along with any supporting staff, the Commissioning Engineer will manage and direct all commissioning related activities to include testing (QA/QC, Functional Performance), training, equipment and systems start-up, resulting in a safe and functional environment that meets established design requirements and stakeholder expectations.

    Responsibilities

    • Manage and support the Owner’s third party Commissioning Agent

    • Be responsible for overseeing the execution of all Pre-Functional Checklists

    • Ensure the sub-contractors fulfill their requirements to support the commissioning process

    • Act as a liaison between start-up technicians and the Construction Manager

    • Attend Commissioning meetings as needed and maintain meeting minutes

    • Manage up to date start-up and installation trackers for reporting purposes

    • Act as the Construction Managers representation during all functional performance testing

    • Ensure equipment and systems are installed and tested per the project specifications

    • Assist in scheduling and monitoring all training activities between the owner, sub-contractors, and manufacturer’s representation

    • Assist in tracking closeout submittals and documentation such as O&Ms, As-builts, and Warranty’s

    • Overseeing the closing of all commissioning related issues 

    Qualifications

    • BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Construction-related field.

    • 2 to 5 years of direct hands on systems commissioning experience.

    • Knowledge of the building design and construction industry with expertise in the building commissioning process is essential.

    • Technical knowledge of HVAC, Electrical, and building automation systems to evaluate and test the performance of these systems.

    • Excellent written and oral communications skills.

    • Strong organizational and computer skills are necessary.

    • Industry recognized Commissioning certification is preferred
