    Walsh is searching for a Commissioning Manager for the LaGuardia Redevelopment project located in New York, NY.


    The successful Commissioning Manager candidate must have a strong background and track record in MEP systems, Commissioning Management, and demonstrate that they can take a lead in the commissioning strategy, process, driving and motivating the on-site teams of contractors to meet the program initiatives and milestones.

    • Leads the management interfaces with Client, Consortium, and Third parties during testing and commissioning phase
    • Responsible to implement and execute a strategic startup and commissioning plan.
    • Manage interfaces with the LaGuardia project Team (Project Manager, Superintendents, and Quality Assurance Manager) subcontractors/vendors and the owner during testing and commissioning phase
    • Provide hands-on field expert level support of construction and functional testing phases of new or newly renovated building commissioning projects  Experience in developing and implementing detailed commissioning execution plans and schedules
    • Lead the investigative and troubleshooting of commissioning projects to identify deficiencies and appropriate solutions 
    • Lead client meetings at high profile accounts and demonstrate appropriate level of technical capabilities. 
    • Direct the organization and preparation of the project through assembling needed project information, tools and work documents to industry standards in timely manner 
    • Troubleshoot system operational issues that impact system operation and energy efficiency 
    • Oversee and perform Field Observations to meet the proposal and client expectations 
    • Perform design reviews at various stages of design development 
    • Review and confirm Basis of Design (BOD) and Owner Project Requirements (OPR) 
    • Perform submittals reviews and prepare commissioning test forms and equipment checklists 
    • Perform field inspections, equipment startups, test and balance activities, and functional performance tests
    • Prepare commissioning reports and maintain commissioning issues lists 


    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Building or Construction related field
    • Minimum of 5 - 7 years of experience serving as a key member of the building commissioning team drafting and executing functional performance tests
    • Experience working on aviation or transportation projects is preferred
    • Strong knowledge of building automation systems, air distribution systems, and water distribution systems.
    • Strong understanding and test and balancing procedure and requirements   
    • Strong knowledge of electrical and emergency power systems
    • Strong knowledge of domestic, storm, and sanitary water systems 
    • Worked on a multiple LEED certified projects directly in the commissioning role. 
    • Proven track record of delivering assigned projects 
    • Strong problem solving, communication and collaborative team building skills 
    • Experienced in using cloud based commissioning software 
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software: Excel, Word, Power Point
