    Walsh is currently seeking an Tax Staff Accountant for our Corporate Accounting Group in Chicago, IL.

    • Prepare various monthly, quarterly and annual tax filings in a timely manner as assigned: Sales and Use Tax, Gross Receipts Tax, Annual reports, etc.
    • Assist with income tax compliance (including but not limited to preparation of Joint Venture income tax returns, extension, quarterly estimates, FBARs, etc.)
    • Maintain and oversee various state registrations
    • Responsible for mailings or administration of income tax and sales use tax compliance, as needed
    • Prepare non-income/non-sales/use returns as assigned (i.e. CA Environmental, Occupational)
    • Assist the Director in federal and state income and/or sales and use tax audits
    • Handle oral and written correspondence from field personnel
    • Work with state and local taxing authorities as needed


    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related degree
    • Entry-level 0 to 2 years of tax experience working in a Corporate Tax Department or Public Accounting Firm
    • Proficient with Microsoft Office products, especially Excel and Word
    • Possess a high degree of accuracy, integrity, and attention to details
    • Strong organization and time management skills, including ability to work independently under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously
    • Good communication skills including the ability to interact effectively with other departments
    • Comfortable with hands­on environment and a self­starter
    • Willingness to learn and improve current processes
