    Walsh is currently seeking an Estimating Coordination Assistant for their Southern California Heavy Civil Office Located in Corona, CA.

     

    The Estimating Assistant for our Southern California office provides customer service and support to the project estimating team, as well as other vendors and subcontractors.

    Responsibilities

    • Assist Estimator with bid proposals
    • Reviews and understands project specifications, plans and addendums
    • Performs product and/or material research for estimating bids
    • Initiates Subcontractor solicitations and quality discussions with the subcontractors to gain detailed knowledge of portion of a project
    • Creates and maintains project estimating filing system that contains confidential documents
    • Manage bid solicitation correspondence on multiple large project pursuits simultaneously
    • Manage minority subcontractors and vendors relationships and correspondence
    • Prepares Good Faith Effort and outreach efforts
    • Subcontractor and vendor contact, insurance, bonding and union status management
    • Prepares bid closing package and assist with bid submission
    • Monitors office estimating inventory
    • Updates project notices and communicates with the estimating team
    • Schedules and attends pre-bid and estimating meetings

    Qualifications

    • 3 years of Civil Construction experience or College degree
    • Performs well in a Team environment
    • Accepts and follows direction
    • Ability to multitask
    • Proficient with MS Office
    • Great communication skills, both verbal and written
    • Experience with data entry and filing systems
    • Strong follow up skills
    • Demonstrates high level of enthusiasm and energy
    • Looks to continually improve processes
    • CMR, SmartBid and HCSS Heavy Bid experience is a plus
    • Construction Management or Engineering degree preferred but not required
