    Archer Western a member of The Walsh Group is currently seeking a Regional Payroll Technician for the Texas Regional Office located in Irving, Texas.

    • Responsibilities include ensuring that time entry/review/corrections for all Regional field personnel is submitted in an efficient manner. Help enforce and train staff in Payroll related rules, processes and policies. Coordinate Walsh/Archer Western Subcontractor Certified Payroll (CP) for region.

    • Responsible for entering in PC Time (proprietary software system), applicable regional time submitted.
    • Review/Coordinate with field for corrections/balance and submit weekly payroll to Corporate.
    • Process, coordinate, print and ship all weekly trades’ employee payroll checks.
    • Create regional payroll holiday schedules for deadline submissions.
    • Coordinate processing of all employee requests with Corporate Payroll for the following; W-2 forms, Child Support/Garnishment issues and Verification of Employment.
    • Process PC Time access requests.
    • Investigate and enter missed time, make-ups, missing checks, lay-off requests, retro request forms, and stop payment requests submitted by region field personnel.
    • Void, reissue and or replace checks.
    • Assist with Cost Code Moves with Jobsite/PC Time/Accounting.
    • Request detailed payroll related information for new job start-ups from field management.
    • Manage, review and submit Waste Treatment Plant (Water Group) Subcontractor CP for region.
    • Create and mail out Subcontractor CP letters.
    • Maintain direct communication with Subcontractors on all CP issues/discrepancies.
    • Research and respond to Pay Rate History requests for employee pay increases.
    • Enforce Payroll rules/policies.
    • Coordinate Payroll training of Office Coordinators and Administrative Assistants. Participate in annual admin training class.
    • May develop various reports and data spreadsheets for regional Estimating department leadership and management as requested.


    The team is looking for someone with the rights skills and attitude. Diverse experiences will be considered, but some possible relevant experience and skills includes:

    • A college degree in accounting/business administration and experience with payroll is desired, but equivalent experience in these fields will be considered
    • Exceptional customer service and communication skills, communicating with all level in the organization
    • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment and work overtime as needed
