    Walsh is currently seeking a Project Payroll Coordinator for our Crenshaw/LAX Corridor Project. This is a full-time project-based role, to include benefits, with duration expectation to meet or exceed 9 months.

    Manage hourly payroll functions of a mega-project for trade employees.

    • Audit timekeeping records for compliance with established standards including collective bargaining agreements and the project labor agreement.
    • Daily entry of payroll into Corporate payroll system (PCTimecard)
    • Coordinate and process all layoff/termination requests.
    • Check timesheets against payroll system printout for accuracy.
    • Review and improve payroll policies and procedures as necessary. Minor procedural changes may be implemented without oversight, major procedural changes will require management approval.
    • Manage and resolve issues relating to payroll including answering employee paycheck questions and reviewing timesheets for accuracy.
    • Distribute weekly paychecks to the proper recipient and per union policies.
    • Assist Project Compliance Manager with additional tasks as needed.


    The team is looking for someone with the rights skills and attitude. Diverse experiences will be considered, but some possible relevant experience and skills includes:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • At least one year of relevant work experience needed.
    • Knowledge of local union requirements as well as state and federal labor compliance regulations a plus.
    • Strong attention to detail and organization.
    • Exceptional customer service and communication skills needed to communicate with all levels in the organization.
    • Must have above average PC computer skills including use of Microsoft Outlook and ability to learn Walsh Payroll Systems.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with strict deadlines and work overtime as needed.
