Overview

Walsh is currently seeking a Director of Project Accounting for the Building Division in Chicago, IL.

 

The Director of Project Accounting is the direct line of communication between the Accounting Department and the President. This individual is independent and maintains good rapport with project staff, Business Group Accounting Managers, Controllers and Senior Staff.

Responsibilities

  • Consolidation of P&L reports for President and Senior Staff
  • Point of contacts for any items President and Senior Staff requires
  • Provides information on projects to CFO and Corporate Controllers
  • Coordinates profit recognition on jobs in their division to ensure future additional losses are not possible
  • Coordinates reporting root causes of issues throughout division to ensure issues do not repeat
  • Creates analytical reports to display financial status of division to Corporate Controllers, CFO, and other Executive Officers
  • Visit material jobs in their region to ensure compliance and correct any issues that may arise
  • Mentors and trains Business Group Accounting Managers in their division
  • Manage a staff of 5-10 direct reports

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent
  • 5-10 years of construction accounting experience preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Publisher)
  • Proficiency in CMiC preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to think strategically while identifying problems and developing creative solutions
  • Some travel required
