Primary Function:

Serve as a critical member of the corporate compliance group within the Legal Department to champion and support the corporate compliance needs throughout the various regions of the company including ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulatory requirements. 


Corporate Ethics and Compliance Manager will serve as a general compliance expert and resource for the organization and employees, which will result in a exposure to a wide variety of interesting compliance topics and challenges while providing hands-on advice, direction and support.  Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Take all actions necessary to promote and support an ethical and compliant culture consistent with the values and principles of the Company as well as applicable laws, regulations and standards.
  • Monitor and oversee, along with Director of Corporate Compliance, comprehensive ethics and compliance program, including conducting training, audits, and policy review and revision.
  • Provide guidance, support and training to management and employees on various compliance matters including, but not limited to, Fair Labor Standards Act, prevailing wage regulations, M/W/DBE, Small Business, Section 3, OFCCP, ADA and accommodations, Fair Pay and Safe Workplaces Act, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, harassment and discrimination
  • Track and analyze emerging legislation and regulations to proactively provide guidance to the company.
  • Review current and develop and implement new corporate initiatives, trainings and processes to support compliance needs of the company. Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develop and implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues, and provide general guidance on how to avoid or deal with similar situations in the future
  • Maintain the risk compliance management process, identify critical compliance and ethics risks, educate and advise on proactive steps to avoid, corrective action where applicable, establish action plans, and follow up to ensure accountability
  • Responding to and investigating corporate Hotline and other complaints at the direction of the Director of Corporate Compliance/Legal. Make recommendations regarding the disposition of the complaint and report to the Legal Department, Director of Corporate Compliance, or Human Resources Department based on results of the investigation
  • Conduct internal reviews and audits at the direction of the Director of Corporate Compliance for compliance related topics to help ensure job-sites are in compliance with federal, state, and local laws and regulations.  Recommend corrective course of action, where necessary, to ensure compliance
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with the Walsh Code of Conduct and other Company policies, answer questions concerning the Walsh Code of Conduct and compliance program
  • Perform other job functions as are necessary and may be assigned to support the compliance needs of the company


  • 3-5 years of practical relevant experience
  • Prior construction experience preferred
  • Ability to speak Spanish is preferred
  • Highly developed written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Ability to assess potential risks, benefits and consequences of decisions including the ability to articulate complex matters and associated risks to all levels of employees from leadership to trades.
  • Ability to work independently yet collaboratively with internal and external teams
  • Travel as necessary to attend meetings, conduct trainings, audits and investigations
  • Required to work in-person at our West Loop Headquarters
