Walsh is currently seeking a CAD Technician for our Midwest Heavy Civil Division in Chicago, IL. 


The CAD Technician will assist and support the survey team with daily coordination derived from contract plans & documents, to field production operations.

In this role, responsibilities include;

  • Assisting and supporting project survey team with daily coordination 
  • Maintenance of project CAD models for surveyors
  • Managing of survey field data
  • Project estimating requests for CAD designs
  • Coordination of subcontractors survey needs
  • Project layout requests
  • Document control (RFIs, submittals, change orders, claims, etc.


We are seeking entry-level candidates with the following qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Knowledge of general construction practices and procedures
  • Experience with survey models/software.
  • Experience with Autodesk Civil 3d, Trimble Business Center or Micro-station OpenRoads is a plus
  • Experience in roadway/bridge modeling
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Ability to prioritize and manage time
  • Self-motivated individual with strong follow up skills
  • Ability to establish relationships
